THIS Sunday, intermediate between our Lord's Ascension and
His promised gift of the Spirit, is well described by its ancient name
of "Dominica Expectationis," or Waiting Sunday, in reference to the command
(Acts i.4) to "wait for the promise of the Father," and with a second reference
to our time of waiting " till He come " Who has ascended into the Heavens.
